This is a thought provoking book about the evolution of warfare. It also lays out Chinese thinking on warfare and how to challenge the US. Highly recommended reading.
The subtitle, "China's Master Plan to Destroy America", is completely unrelated to the content of "Unrestricted Warfare". The cover blurbs as well are misleading and deceptive. There is no evidence in this book directly linking China to 9/11. Conspiracy followers please look elsewhere.On the other hand, this book is a revealing discussion of current Chinese warplanning, so revealing that I confess to being shocked that the PLA actually allowed it to be produced for public consumption. Anyone who has studied the development of Chinese strategic thinking over the past two millenia will find on these pages many familiar conventions along with clear, concise explanations of how those conventions are being applied to the modern world. There is a long review of Desert Storm, the restructuring of the American military in the years immediately before and after Desert Storm, and a great deal of speculation on how the lessons of Desert Storm could be applied to Chinese strategy should they find themselves facing the American military in an armed confrontation. Some of the conclusions the writers arrive at are both breathtaking in their simplicity and devastating in their relevance to events happening right now.There is no master plan for destroying America on these pages. There is, however, a very realistic discussion of strategy China could implement if they found themselves being forced to choose between backing down on some vital international interest and going to war with the most powerful military in today's world.
If I remember right this Book ran for $300.00 back when it first came out back in 1999. Very Informative as to China's Global Plan. Our Politicians on both sides should be reading this!
Based on events happened and developing currently, the contents of this book seemed to be a preliminary research and strategic blueprint back then.

Its ok, book is translated as described; however, translation lacks correct wording across the book. But it is interesting.
Interesting, but I suspect the credibility of the premise for this book I'd need some underlying research and reference notes to further understand some of the points made in this book. Still an interesting concept worth researching.
Tough read, seems disorganized. Good info, though.
